With design forethought and a commitment to helping farmers and their families, Christina provides the template against which natural raw materials are transformed into commercially exportable furnishings and handicrafts.
Her work has won many design awards for Hacienda Crafts. Christina is recognized in her craft. She has been President and Chairman of the Association of Negros Producers, and Chairman of the annual Negros Trade Fair in Manila. At the 2011 Cebu NEXT, the country's leading furniture exhibition held annually in Cebu City, Christina was instrumental in bringing home young Filipino designers living in different parts of the world to work with local manufacturers.
Their outstanding creations were the centerpiece attractions of the show, later to be exhibited at the Manila FAME (Fashion Accessory and Merchandise Expositon). Christina will be the Chairman of the 2012 Cebu NEXT.
In-between all these, she lugs her Apple and crayons back to the farm. Because it is at the farm, working with her heart and hands, that Christina Borromeo-Gaston finds reason for her artistry.
